Had new LS6 block and all other components installed, did a search for a/c problems and did not find what i was looking for. Power is getting to everything, a/c compressor not coming on, one shop said Only GM has the tech 2 , and they are the only ones that can do it. what happens is the a/c light comes on and blinks a few times then off it goes. only hot air comes out. no codes, i read a whole lot of different stuff on what it could be(ground wire, plug, harness got caught when reinstalled engine) i guess i'll have to go to the dealer, is there one diagnostic test that will tell me what is wrong? got extended warranty that covers everything, willing to pay GOOD money to anyone that can solve this problem(heatwave in AZ at this time) Some say it could be a minor(compressor clutch) or a major -(a/c compressor), car has been sitting for over a month, with the innards out of it.i have also heard the dealer won't touch it with all the mods, however the a/c problem is not a Mod and mods can't possibly cause this problem, right? thanks all.
See Griffgoodys post on 5/19. I had the same problem, no codes, a flickering light and no cold air. Turned out for me a bad pressure switch and maybe the ground to it. Hope that helps.

There is a external air temp sensor in the lower radiator shroud on the passengers side. It will be directly below the connector for the hood light. It is a small probe that is black, about two inches long. (it will be monitoring the air flowinh into the shroud. If it is not connected or bad, the AC system will not function. Check the codes in the DIC memory. The AC system is a OBDII monitored system and will throw some codes at you to help you pin point the issue.
Are you sure when the block was replaced they did not open the ac lines? Its possible they opened the lines and did not recharge the system. You might try getting a recharge kit with a gauge and check it (about $20.) Good luck!!!

the system has been evacuated and recharged, getting checked by a gm tech 2 on wed.
i hear there are 7 computers in the car and you need the tech 2 too see them all, and one for specifically the HVAC system, also if there are codes on the hvac one you must clear it first, before it will work?
c'mon tech2 it's 113 degrees here for past week and extreme heat advisory!
had a similar problem but w/o an engine change. It was the fuse block. a/c would blow hot and then the light would flash and then go off. first tried changing the fuse then the whole block it worked.
