Default Ls6 Manifold Question

I have recently put a LS6 Manifold on my 2000 coupe and ran into a problem. You may have read my other post about my installs yesterday and so forth and how I am having back firing issues and rough idle. I had a friend (mechanic) listen to it and he told me that it is a vacuum problem and that an exhaust leak would be more of a knock than an extremely rough idle (when I shift from park to drive it idles really rough) and so I have been checking everything and decided to take the manifold off. There is this really really small hose that slips into this hole by the sensor in the back (I am sure you all know the one, it comes off of that strange nipple looking thing. Well, it is so short that I literally have to have the manifold on before I can do anything further (not long enough). COuld this be the problem? It is so freakin' small!

Curious and irritated guy looking for more advice and possible answers.

That hose is a bitch to attach and I'll bet it's your problem. I think I attached a section of safety wire to the end of the hose to help pull it into place while holding the manifold as far back as it would go.
After I got the hose on, I positioned the manifold for the installation. Next time, I'll do something more creative, like splice it to make it longer.

Cheers, Curt

when i did mine, i pulled the old manifold off without seeing that vaccum line.. putting it back together, i had to make an extension because i broke a small piece of it off to get it back on the new manifold.. hope this helps

Well, I went to HOME DEPOT and the sell a hose that is perfect for this, however it comes in a roll of 50 feet and so I have about 49 feet and 8 inches left. LOL! I slipped the hose (the subject) into it and then I pushed it into nipple (next subject) and this gave me plenty of room to work things out!

I know alot more of us out there have felt this pain! LOL!
