Default Easy entry = worn out motors?

Just curious if anyone has any info/advice etc on using the easy entry mode. It seems like to me that using this will wear out the electric motors pretty fast, is my suspicion unjustified?

In case I didn't call it quite the right thing, I mean the mode where it'll back up the seats for you to get in, and then once you start your corvette it'll scoot you and your steering wheel back to your settings.

Maybe those motors are bullet-proof though?

I just broke 74,k on my 2000 coup ... Easy Entry still going strong with no problems. From what I have heard, if you don't have the seat scooted back when you exit then you run the risk of messing up the side bulster from the constant rubbing up against it ... There is no sign of wear on mine at all! The car has the option, just enjoy it and worry about the problems if & when they happen!

That's good to hear I do like the feature, guess I won't sweat it then. Thanks!

Almost 60k on mine and the memory seats work just fine! Enjoy them, that is one option I'm glad I have!

the seats are cheap crap for the most part anyway. Too bad they aren't cheap to replace as well. Mine are worn out with less than 50k miles and I don't even use easy entry. Don't get me started.

Doh that sucks, sounds like their either going to give me no problems or just break anyhow lol, guess I'll just use it and if it breaks it breaks.

Zumin,

I don't think you have to worry about the motors. However, there have been some concerns expressed, than the "easy entry" feature does accelerate the onset of the dreaded "rocking seat syndrome".

I’m kinda of a big guy, with a bad knee. I find it much easier to have the seat back and down all the way to get in and out. Then I move it up and forward (no memory) to drive. I have been doing that since April 98 with no problem. Motor is working fine + I have not had any of the seat rocking problems.

The only way to get out the car in a reasonable fashion.

I use the easy entry because I have 2 herniated disc. So my choice is easy entry or drive the Benz and it also has ("easy exit )

99 Nassau Blue entering easy.

I got the Rocking Chair ride after only 15,000 miles, but because the Vette was over 3 years old (1998) GM told me to shove it. The cost is like 700.00 for the replacement. But they didn't fix it, so 700.00 fix will do the same thing in the future.
