Default Z06 auto conversion whats available

I am planning a project and would like the forums help on it. I have owned two coupes and primarily bought them because the A4 was available. I really like the FRC and Z06 body style better. Ok here is my question. What automatic transmissions could be used on a Z06? I know the vette A4 will work but are there any other gm transmissions that would bolt in. I am especially interested in a 5 or 6 speed. I am not a mechanic so I would have this done at a forum vendor most likely.
Thanks ahead of time. I bracket drag race and prefer the automatic for consistency. Oh and please stick to the topic no manual verse automatic posts, or it would be cheaper to mod a coupe to run faster, I am already aware of these things.

The best man suited to do the job is only slightly over an hour from you. I'm sure someone will chime in and mention who that would be.

I hear the 4L80E is a good tranny, they are saying its basically Turbo 350/400 with over drive. Im not sure of who is good or who has done the conversion successfully.

According to Dave Hill, the reason they didn't put an auto in a Z06 was because GM didn't have an Auto that would handle the torque. I would try to get ahold of one of the Tiptronic autos they will be offering in the 2006, I think, Z06 with paddle shifters.
