Dynatechs in from top???
I thought I read a post where someone accomplished this.
I removed the steering shaft, does the valve cover have to come off?

...that took a while to micor-solder back
I did not remove any valve covers but did remove coil packs, plugs/wires etc..
Disconect Batt
Driver side Remove the Alt, Coil pack, Fuel line @ fuel rail, steering shaft bolt @ rack, and Valve cover.
Pass Side Remove Coil pack, dip stick, valve cover.
I may have missed something but you get the idea. BTW I have installed several short tubes the Dynatechs and LG long tubes from the top without any problems. I did a set of LG's last week and had to remove th oil filter to get the driver side on.
Good Luck

Where did you hear that?????
I wasted 1 hour trying to not to remove the starter, to save time but at the end had to get the starter out
For the driver side, if you remove stuff you just named it will take another 2 hours of labor, than sticking them from under
IF YOU DONT KNOW DONT SPREAD RUMORS, do your homework first

Yeah you did several SHORT TUBE HEADERS, but i bet never long tubes without any problems
Please re-read my post. I have done both long tubes and short tubes. I had Dynatech's (sold) on my car a couple of months ago that I put on last November. And last week I installed a set of LG long tubes. The instructions said to put in from the bottom. They easily went in from the top on the passenger side. I did have to remove the oil filter on the driver’s side. BTW the dynatech's were easier both going in and coming out compared to the LG's.
Sorry you had so many problems as it only took me 2-3 minutes Pass, 5-10 minutes Drivers to set them in while not scratching the nice Jet Hot finish that is on them.

P.S. I have installed 15-20 Sets of headers (L&S) in C5's. BTW Molson posted that he had no problem on the passenger side which is the side the starter is located on!

I got the driver side in after removing the valve cover and fuel rail...I don't have a fuel disconnect tool.
It went in easy after that..
It set me back about an hour but it was worth it...and by the way I didn't have to remove the starter.... just the bolts.

Why would you coat SS headers? Isn't that a little overkill?
