CLB Question
I have a MY 2001 coupe MN6. I installed the CLB last year and everything has been fine. My dealer keeps sending me letters to have the recall performed. Is it necessary to do the recall with the CLB already installed, or more importantly, would the recall somehow screw up the CLB?

I had the CL Recall done at the dealer before I installed the CLB. The recall will not affect the operation of the CLB. The recall reflashes the PCM to shut off fuel flow if the column should lock, period. It does NOT prevent the column from locking...there is no physical change to the column lock system. The CLB also does not change the column lock system physically...it could still lock...but no one has reported that happening after installing the CLB. The CLB will prevent your column from locking as it would in the normal mode, i.e., when you park and remove the key...the column lock security feature locks your column. This will not happen with the CLB, so some measure of anti-theft security is lost...everything's a compromise
