Default Need help with emergency brake assembly

02' 6 speed cpe. My emergency brake button has seperated from the rest of the brake. The button and the rod can be pulled out of the brake handle. I haven't done this yet but the emergency brake cannot be engaged at this time. Is it a big deal to detach and replace? Does anyone have any how tos on this? How much will a new brake assembly cost? I need help! I can't stand when anything is not working on my car.

This will give you an idea.

The only difficult thing (to me) is getting at the Torx screws that hold the assembly to the tunnel. The poster doesn't mention it, but it looks like he removed the passenger seat for easy access

Yes...remove the 4 (ea) 15mm nuts and unplug the power to seat. The seat comes right out in less than 5 minutes. The torx screws that hold the handle assy are VERY tight, so get a good torx driver and put a lot of pressure on the screw before breaking it loose.

Great But It Does Not Fix His Problem. The Button Is Seperated From The Handle. I Have The Same Problem And Would Like To Know If It Can Be Fixed Or Do I Have To Replace The Whole Handle?
