i have an 04 vert, 4k miles. twice since march battery has gone dead after the car sits a couple of weeks. i have other vehicles that sit for weeks at a time, no dead battery. what is taking the battery down? anyone know or have this problem...this is a new car!!!!
same thing happened to me after a 2 week vacation. this is typical for these cars, seems to be a lot of parasitic draw from all the electronics. I got a battery tender and just hook it up when I go away and no problems when I return. Cheapest way to fix the problem....HTH,

Although this happens to a bunch of cars, it's not normal. Check things like radar detectors that are not turned off, and a loose glove box door that leaves the light on. A notorious cause is the security system. If you lock the car using the FOB, the system draws power continuously. If you lock the car with the key, it doesn't draw power. Give it a try next time and see if it helps. But yes, a battery tender is clearly indicated.
I have an 03 anniversay edition that had the same problem. Turned out to be a short in the tail lights that was draining the battery. It was fixed under warranty.
Ive had the same problem, but it only happens after the three week mark. I think the batteries are good for 25 days without a start. Mind has failed in the winter at the 21 day mark. In the winter, if it snows, I throw a charger on it while I shovel the driver even if I dont use the car. I pretty make sure if I dont use the car by the 3rd weekend, I have to something to the battery.

Excessive parasitic drain is not normal on these cars. As C5-BRUCE indicated, check the obvious. Sometimes it is tough to track down the drain. If you have a multi-meter, watch the draw on the battery and start pulling fuses. When you see the drain drop, you've found the parasitic source.
If you have an 04 and the batteries are draining at that rate, get it into the dealer and let them fix it! My 02 Z06 sits in the garage and will start after two months of sitting! Something is wrong and needs to be fixed. They can test the electrical system for parasitic drain and see if it is abnormal.
