Hi, emissions failed this morning because the battery drained down a while ago and I haven't driven her much lately. Emissions tech indicated the car needed to be driven a while to reset the computer before it would pass emissions. How many miles or days does it need to be driven? Thanks.
You should be able to retrain the computer in a few days, at least that is what I was told when the same thing happened in my old 3000 GT VR-4. The key is that you do a lot of in town driving, switching RPMs, turns, etc..
When I had the problem, the shop gave me a set of instructions that could be used to retrain the computer.
Here is a link that shows how to access your codes and reset them, I believe this is all the emissions department looks at so just make sure you don't have any codes followed by an "H C" before you let them hook up to your car. CODES
RUNAMUK - You are awesome man....thanks a lot. I tried this, had some code in with an H, cleared it and it passed emissions. You saved me a lot of hassle, and I will keep the instructions for reading the codes.
