I made a mistake and took my car in for the recall. Now my computer has been reset, my setting wiped, and I need to put a new one in.
I've taken out the stock computer and am replacing it with another.
What are the instructions for putting in a new computer? It's in place and ready to go, I just think there are instructions for resetting, or something.

Turn the key and wait 30 seconds????
Thanks in advance.
I replaced my PCM and kept the original to put back in for trips back to the dealers. After removing the passenger side front tire and the access panel inside the wheel well the TAC & PCM are exposed. The only difficult part of the whole deal are the back mounting screws. You have to be a contortionist to get to these. Remove the TAC module (2 screws) and then remove the two connectors from the TAC. Once this is out of the way, remove the two connectors from the PCM. These are self extracting connectors that will back out when you turn the mounting screw. Next, loosen the rear mounting screw in the PCM bracket, but don't remove it. Remove the two front mounting screws from the bracket. The PCM will now slide out towards curbside. Reverse this procedure to install but don't tighten the rear PCM mounting screw and do not install the rear mounting screw for the TAC. This will make the next removal much easier. I just used a nylon tie wrap to secure the back of these modules. It is not necessary to disconnect the battery or any fuses to perform this change.
Are you referring to the PCM ?? If you have a custom tune a flashing of the PCM by the dealer will wipe out your tune. If that happens you need to get it retuned or, if you where smart enough, download a copy of you tune that you saved in HP tuners or LS1 edit.
It sounds like you have a "backup PCM" withnyour tune stored on it. If that's the way you store your tune you should send the PCM you took out to your tuner to have it reprogramed to you specs so that the next time your desaler wipes you tune you'll be able to switchout your PCM.
By the way the C5 has several (4 or 5?) "computers" ( perhaps EvilTwin will enlighten us with the exact number) so the phrasiology my "computer" is a little obsolete and confusing.
