Great price! SDPC didn't mention a PCM, but i'm sure it comes with one since i believe all create motors come with one. I wonder if it comes with the dry sump?

Ain't that the truth. 5 yrs ago it took ~$8-10k to get 400 rwhp with all the bolt ons (for '97-'99 C5's). Now for a few grand more one can get well over 400rwhp and have a 427 to boot.

......I SEE A 427ci IN MY FUTURE!

why get a 427 that makes less hp and costs more money than an aftermarket 402?

So what does it really take to put a LS7 in place of an LS1 in a 99?

Wiring,,? computer?? or is it a bolt in with bigger injectors. Thanks 99 Nassau Blue,, just thinking...

I'm thinking the same thing.

I have $3500 in parts in my car and have a shade over 500 crank hp. I do my own labor.

For a $3200 more I can have 500 rwhp. Of course I won't have a 427 and I will have to increase the cubes to get over that but it cuts the price in half.

The tuner 427's LS6 based motors are getting 600rwhp. That will be my decision point if I decided to go bigger. Will a modded LS7 get to that mark cheaper? The jury is still out on that one

Better parts, and it's only a cam swap away from making more power than a 402 for less $.

Has anyone been able to come up with a viable knock sensor conversion?
I understand LS2 and LS7 knock sensors are a completly different application and not compatable with LS1 or LS6 equipped cars???
What else do we need for a successful conversion?
Custom made headers?
Motor mounts different?

Someone has got to produce a custom LS7 to LS1 conversion kit soon!!!

There should be a work -around for the LS2/LS7 Knock sensors, soon.

Current 1 7/8 " headers will bolt up.
Motor mounts are the same.

Do you think those will all get snatched up? I mean will they still be available in say 3-4 years? Best guess

Do you think there will be an ample supply of these motors? Sure seems to me, like they will be on back order the first year ATLEAST.

yup bigger cam (solid roller will be awesome!!) and maybe the possbility of tweaking out the heads a lil more and it will blow away the 402 for less.

No need to massage the heads any more since they already are CNC ported and have 2.20/1.60 valves. Since this motor is built to spin >7200rpm, the big gain will come by way of a huge cam, big headers/exhaust, big intake (sheet metal Harrop), injectors and tuning. I'd bet these changes alone to the LS7 will put the motor >600rwhp daily driver. So for the crate motor cost + another $5k in parts you get a bullet proof motor that wont have leaking cyl sleeves!! replete with titanium rods, billet crank, monster heads. No one can beat that math.

I hope the LS7 block is priced friendly for those of us that have already invested big && in billet stroker/big bore internals.

I have been following (and harassing many vendors) the knock sensor conversion attempts for quite a while. A few Vendors touted an answer but when I put my money on the table and demand a finished product all of a sudden my calls and emails are not returned... I believe we will be waiting longer than we think (or want)....
