Ok i have put in over 3 differentials in my 99 coupe and i still get a slight high pitch howl at 50 to 60mph that seems to be comming from the shifter area but no noise before0- 50 or after 65 . Wondering if it is my diff again or the tranny? Any Ideas? Is there a thicker oil i need to add or additive? I am using cheap 80W90 in the rear. Havnt added any limited slip additive to it.

The first thing I would do if I were you is drain the el-cheapo gear lube and go with either Red-Line full synthetic (additive included) or Amsoil full synthetic (which I believe also has the additive).
As far as the noise you refer to, you say it's in the shifter area? You can probably safely rule out the diff it sounds like to me. Have you checked your torque tube? It runs beneath the area you mentioned and rotates with engine speed and has rubber bushings on each end. Try a search on the torque tube issues some people have had. Most time people have problems with it has been the high performance guys that drive their Vettes pretty hard though. Good luck. HTH
