Mine is on the driver side, in the middle of the front edge at the end of the spring. About 1/8 x 1 inch. You can bearly see it if you know where to look. I found it with my finger when I had the car up doing H/C. My car sits about 1/8 - 3/16 lower on the driver side. I was told this is an inconsequensial splinter....not affecting drivability.
DH
Mine is splintering on the right side underneath the little bar thing that bolts it up to the frame. It also has signs of little stress fractures. I guess the spring should be completely smooth and mine looks like a piece of particle board for lack of a better description. Luckily for me i have the FE1 suspension, so the spring is only 200 bucks
My car made no noises until I got an alignment done. Now it makes the same noises that you're describing. I would like to take it back to them and have them retorque everything because it makes my $50k car sound like a POS.

So yours is more in the middle of the spring??
Mine is a new Z06 spring. I would consider taking it back to dealer except that I have to pay the labor and dealer would find some reason not to take it back....like cut front bushings

Definatly go back and have them check the alignment again and torque everything down. My noise is totally gone.
When I was first looking at alignment someone gave me the advise to have the alingment guy really put muscle into the torque down because the C5 bolts slip easily. Also to use nail polish to mark the position of the concentrics to easily view if they have moved.
