Default A/c And Battery Q?

I just pulled my 97 vet into the shop to check the a/c not very cold.
That is when I noticed that the air blows out from all holes, defrost, vents, ect and does not change with the controls the arrows change but it keep blowing out from everywhere.

I searched this form and came up that it might be a vacume hose under the battery??

So if I take the battery out to check will my radio lock up or will anything else be affected? We are leaving on vacation in the morning and don't have time to be tring to reset everything.

Any help would be great, thanks in advance

If you have programed your radio with a security code you will need to input this code to unlock the radio after reconnecting the battery. If you havn't done this your radio will work as normal. I have disconnected my battery many times when working on my car, nothing else is affected.

FWIW, I recently removed my ACDelco battery that was leaking, to replace it and check this vacuum lin, becuase I am having that same problem as you. But I was unable to locate this vacuum line from the top. Maybe you have to get to it from the bottom ???? Hopefully someone will chime in and tell us (Bill Curlee)
