Default Throw Out Bearing going out?

First major concern on my M6. When the clutch is not engaged, and I turn off the ignition, I hear a cluncky, clanky sound. When the clutch is engaged and I turn off the ignition, quiet...............Does that not sound like the trhrow out bearing is bad? I only have 26k on it. I am very nice to my clutch. I downshiftsomewhat, I hate using my brakes all the time, that's why I got a M6 vs an AT, but I don't abuse it. Any replys will be appreciated. Thank God I have an extended GM warranty. They cover the fingers, and some other items, not sure exactly what, because it hasn't been completely diagnosed at the Dealership yet. Still waiting to be worked on. I heard it takes a whole 16 hours labor to tear it apart and put it together again. sheez.....

That is normal. All clutches should do that. That’s why I make sure the clutch is engaged when I turn her off.

True true, I didn't know what to do when I got her, then someone told me to just hold the clutch when turning her off. No sound after that

Are you serious? I can't believe the loud rattle noise is normal after turning the ignition off while the clutch is not engaged. Would anybody else like to respond to re-assure me? It's at the Dealer as we speak. Should I have another service tech start it up and verify it before they start working on it????? Please help! Thanks! Jeannie

Normal. Now get your car out of there before something bad does happen to it!

Yep. Should have gone on the Forum sooner. Just threw away $55.00 at the Dealership to tell me it was normal. I think the Service Techs however, had they been more informed and knowledgeable about Vettes, would have told me so from the get-go.
