Got it done about eight months ago, all was fine until today. I went to leave work and BAM pull key blah, blah. I was so I had to get a ride home from work, then I had to find my CLB, which I had no idea where it was. An hour later, I found it. I get another ride back to my car, and another hour later, I find out neither one of my cigrette lighters work, now I am more I check all the fuses, all seem to be fine. I borrow someones lighter, and behold it works.
Is GM ever gonna figure out how to fix this problem????? It is driving me
GM removed the locking ring completely on my A4, is that not enough to fix the problem for good?
Jason
Nope. Removing the locking ring will make it physically impossible for the column to lock, but if the actuator fails, the BCM will not be able to determine the position of the actuator and will shut off the fuel.
You still need a relay in the system (either the CLB or GM Harness K) to satisfy the BCM.
the other problem you might have is that some people with 98-99 have problems with the CLB. You are caught between a rock and a hard place and
NO GM WILL NOT FIX IT CORRECTLY....
I do have a 98, does that mean the failure could happen once every 4,6,8 or even 10 months? That means I have to retune my car with HP Tuners every time they reprogram it? They must know how to fix it?

This is BS!!!
Since you have a MN6 I would try to install the CLB. Some people have problems with it while others do not. The fix from GM for a MN6 will not solve your problem in the long run.
