Default New Exhaust

i just bought a 97 A4 and am looking to get a new exhaust. I know a lot of it is personal opinion, but i thought i'd get some advice on what everyone else likes. And where the best place to buy is. thanks

Check with Todd @ eastcoast corvettes, then buy B&B.

Before anyone can give advice, you need to give us a better idea of what you want in an exhaust. How loud do you want it? How much, if any, resonance/drone are you willing to tolerate? Its also helpful to know what other mods you plan to do in the future, as these can significant impact your exhaust sound.

With that being said, keep a close eye on the C5 Parts for Sale section. There are almost always sale prices for exhaust systems. Here's a couple that are currently on sale:

Corsa Exhaust Sale

Borla Exhaust Sale

I put a Z06 Titanium system on my 97- they are beautiful! I also have a set of headers to compliment the sound. I think anything but the Z06 set would have been WAY too loud for me on the inside...the Z06 sound nice and deep, and at wide open they scream power! Probably won't add too much to a stock setup- but believe me, you will be modding and I am sure headers will come some day...then you will be set!

GHL also makes a nice setup!

My last cat back exhaust was a Z06 Cat Back, by far the best sounding (not too loud) and with good looking tips. I had the Corsa Touring earlier and it had pretty tips and the sound was OK. You can find the Z06 cat back used ever so often at reasonable prices on the forum.
