I have a quick question me and my bud Gary went to install a CLB in his 2000 Coupe but when we installed it(as per the direction for Thunder Racing) the colum locked when we removed it it unlocked. The car has been to the dealership 3 times for a colum lock fix. So we figured we would install a CLB when he got it back. His this ever happened to anyone else? What would cause this??
Did you make sure the column was in the unlocked position before you unplugged it to install the CLB? If it was in the unlocked position when you unplugged it, there should be no way for it to relock (since it is no longer connected) Conversely, if the column was in the locked position when you unplugged it, it would stay in the locked position.
It sounds like maybe the column was never unlocked when you installed the bypass so it appeared that it locked with the bypass installed, and when you removed the bypass and turned the key on, the column unlocked just as it was designed to do.
