C5 Performance Pad Pricing
What is the deal with C5 brake pad pricing?
I've bought race pads for alot of cars and this just nuts.
Talk about a Corvette tax, the price of just my two fronts covered the cost of 4 track pads for any of my previous cars.
Even the RX7 pads were 1/2 the price and I bet they sell alot more C5/C6 pads than RX7 pads.
$315 is ridiculous for track pads.
Anyone know of a reasonable pad at a decent price?
Hawk doesn't make the black that I found for the C5, I ran them on my RX7 and loved them.
I know they dust, but a bucket of water and soap is alot cheaper than sinking $300+ into some track pads.

Hawk does make blues and blacks for the C5.
$315 WOW that is cheap. PFC-O1s where mid $400.
I use Wilwood H pads. Mid $300s for a set.
PFC-O1s lasted my two weekends on the fronts and 5 weekends on the rears. Rotors lasted 2 weekends and 5 weekends
The H pads lasted 5 weekends on the front and 50% remaining rears are still at 75%.
Rotors last two weekends on the front.
Many ppl like the Carbotech XP10&11s

I could not find a vendor selling the Blacks and I checked Hawk's webpage and they don't list them either.
The 315 was for XP10 front/XP9 rear.
If thats what I have to pay I guess thats what I have to pay...
Should get a GP and buy enough for the season. I'm no pro and I'm sure a set will last me all summer, about 6 events.
