Is there a Retained Accessory Power circuit other than the radio/CD fuse? The extra hot/accessory/ground wires in the fuse box is a great idea but the accessory wire is not a RAP.
Also, how does the dang car know when a door is open? Since there is no traditional switch on the door (or did I just not find it?), how do you fool the car into thinking the door is closed so you can check the fuse box?
The door switches are on the latch itself inside the door. When the door is open, the switch closes and connects a path to ground.
You can disconnect the wire connector at the switch to "fool" the car into thinking the doors are closed, but you will have to remove the door panels to do this.
