Default Clutch Problems HELP!!

Ok I have a McLeod twin disk with an aluminum flywheel and the adjustable master, the whoe setup is less than a year old and has about 8k miles on it.

Over the last couple days I have been noticing it is engaging closer and closer to the floor and this morning its engaging almost right on the floor, the car is near impossible to get into reverse, the a few of the other gears bind a bit when shifting. There is no hydraulic fluid leaking onto my garage floor so fluid should be fine.

Any ideas? Theres noway the clutch could be worn down yet is there? I have a total of less than 10 passes at the track on it over the last year.

Tried adjusting the master cyclinder and it felt a little better at first, however, as soon as the car got hot the same problems continued.

This sounds very similar to my experience of my slave cylinder going bad. You will not see any signs of leakage, only the fluid resevoir where you fill will keep going dry.(Slave is internal and you can't spot the leak externally) My clutch was literally on the floor and I kept losing actuation with the clutch fully depressed. Oh, and of course if they can't SEE a leak/diganose the problem, you are left with them pulling the clutch assembly out...not fun.

It's in the shop now and the initial thought is air in the lines so they are going to bleed it. I am not losing any fluid, the resivoir is full and no drips anywhere. The pedal started feeling a bit spongey 4 or 5 days before this started so hopefully just air in the lines.

Its been very hot here (90's) and with the long tubes the thought is the heat is causing air bubbles to form in the line that runs right past the headers.......we'll see.

Hopefully they are going to flush it instead of just bleeding.

I would try to get some heat wrap or reflector over the line.

Good Luck!

Ya hes flushing it and putting in high temp fluid. I intend to wrap my headers where the line runs past them and put some of that heat reflective material on the line as well.

I'll post the outcome regardless for those who have LT's and are interested.

Never got to the flushing part, he pulled the inspection cover and found a ton of dust and pieces of clutch material. The thought is now but wont know till tomorrow is that at least one pad on one of the disks came apart. Unreal.

Less than 8k on clutch, maybe 4 or 5 passes at the track using launches from idle........ WTF its a damn $1300 clutch!!!!!

Had a similar issue. The clutch bolts were working themselves loose. Check that also. We ended up replacing the McLeod when it failed with an Exedy, and then a Textralia which is in now, and working 1000% better than the previous clutches.
