Cleaned My Air Filter
I am making this post for a couple reasons. First I think its time we put this "filtering issue" to bed. Secondly, I am going to be installing heads and cam in the future and if filtering is an issue, I want to know now.
I changed my oil while I was at it as it had gotten down to 19% life and I saved a clean sample of it for analysis.
So to recap, I have put 2,221 miles on the Vararam and it's filter, and more than that on the oil. Much more than that. The Vararam has had 2,221 miles to do it's thing.
This is what it looked like on the duct side

This is what it looked like on the throttle body side. As clean as it did the day I put it in there

I cleaned it with the K&N cleaner kit as per their instructions. It cleaned up real nice:

I let it dry and used PJ-1 oil on the duct side before reinstalling it.
My throttle body was in pristine condition. There was no difference in its appearance from what I initially showed you here some months ago.

You guys are killing me.
It is the standard Vararam Baja filter.
No man, I'm being serious here. I know Vararam puts out more than one filter...jeess!!
BTW, I'm surprised your buddy Korreck hasn't closelined you yet...

I thought he had put the first guy up to this.

I guess I am starting to see Korreck hiding behind every tree.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
i am going to run it around till my other parts come in, then pull it to check it over, clean it and use the PJ oil that they recommended.
