I replaced my Firestone Firehawks with them and love them. Have had several long road trips with them. Smooth ride, great traction, and good price. Zuti
I just installed the Kumho Ecsta Mx Run-flats. I've only run them a couple hundred miles so far, but, I like them alot. Much better ride than the original Goodyear, and though I haven't driven very hard yet, I don't notice any adverse handling issues. Good price, and very good looking tire. I bought mine from Tire Rack and had them 2 days later!
I just looked on the Kumho web site (www.kumhousa.com) at their write up for the Ecsta MX and there is no mention of run-flat. Only reference that I could find to run-flat was reference to the Vette original equipment tires. Sure they are run-flats? I was wanting to look up the specs to see if they were repairable after a run-flat condition.
Edit: Also check the TireRack site and they do list them as "run-flat" but give no details. In fact the specs do not mention run-flat.

Tom,
I cut and pasted this from Tire Racks web site. When you get to the Ecsta MX, click on the left hand side by the photo of the tire for the specs. Zuti

They say "run-flat" on the sidewall. Might be a typo???
The Kuhmo Ecsta MX is NOT a run flat tire. Kuhmo introduced a new EMT tire in 2003 called the Ecsta MX XRP specifically made for Corvettes. The press release is here: http://www.kumhousa.com/news/news2002.asp
The tires listed on tirerack don't say anything about XRP, but I would assume they are at $173/$238 F/R. Discount tire is selling the Ecsta MX for $127/$176 F/R which I would assume are not XRPs. Measure 2x, cut once.

The tires listed on tirerack don't say anything about XRP, but it does state run flat. I would double check with them. Measure 2x, cut once.
