Ideal Z06 drag setup?
If you were setting up a Z06 to run as a pure drag car, what mods would you do aside from slicks, minor perf. bolt on's and maybe some weight reduction? A buddy of mine needs help for a member of his Vette club that wants to make a pure drag car from is 02 Z06 and (I assume) still be able to drive it on the street.

I am sort of planning one as we speak. I have owned two coupes and I think I am going to purchase a Z06 this winter and get it ready for next years season. But I have a question are you talking about ***** to the wall heads up drag racing or bracket racing. I am a bracket racer so I like to go a little faster but I primarily look for consistency.
For a bracket racer number one mod is converting it to an A4.

It can be done, whats the budget, which part of the car are you willing to get into ? Mine had to be reliable and a daily diver that was not broke down all the time. All's I wanted to do was change the tires at the track. It really depends on what your goals are.

pure drag car and still streetable are couple very different goals.
If you mean use it regularly for drag racing and be consistent then tires, either drag radials or MT ET Street and maybe full drag package. Stronger clutch. Shift light, bigger rear, 3.73, 3.90 or 4.10
