$85.00. Bought my Blackwing used on the forum for $80 and made my own cover, $5.00.

I have a brand new (on the car for about 6 hours) big mouth. You can have it SUPER cheap as long as you honestly report whether or not it works as advertised.

This was my thoughts...

Install a Vararam using their foam filters, to be honest I don't care about a little dirt in the motor. It'll probably get rebuilt every 30-40 thousand miles anyways... so who cares.

I was going to fabricate black plastic peices to be the same size as the Z06 screens that would attatch with velcro. Keep the peices in the glove box. If I don't trust the weather conditions... I can pull out the Z06 screen and replace them with the covers. I will also make a latch/spacer to put in the Vararam air cover lid, to hold it open about 2 inches. So in bad weather I can close the inlets and open the lid for air from the engine compartment. I could pull into a gas station and do this in 2 minutes. Mine is a daily driver... so I want to make it as friendly as possible.

Bob

Bob, why would you want to part with the big mouth ?? I would be concerned about pitching pebbles into my radiator/condensor. I just got done pulling about 2,000 pebbles out with a tooth pick.... Other concern would be, will it scoop water?? That is mounted quite low to the ground.

I'm all about testing new products. I spoke with a Vararam engineer last week about providing inlet covers for there kits. Seems that, that is one of their customers big concerns... they could correct it for about $10.

That is a good plan.

As for the Big Mouth, I installed it and then in the morning went to install a tranny cooler and the BM was in the way. I felt the cooler was the more important mod. Mfg said it won't scoop anything but air, I did not have it on long enough to test that. Korreck has or had it on his car, he may be better qualified to answer that question. As for the Vararam, install a set of screens and you don't have to worry about crap being sucked in.

I'm not dancing around anything. I don't have an Icebox. I made my own. I did not pay for the Big Mouth. It was free but I removed it. It didn't help me. Buy yourself a used Blackwing.

If you want to spend $500, go ahead. You can also do it for under a hundred. The Blackwing doesn't wear out, so why not buy used?

Don't know what the hell you want George. I answered your questions, or so I thought. I'm outta this one. And by the way, don't ever ask me anything else cause you'll wait till hell freezes over and you'll still not get a reply.
