Default Euro Head Lights

Is there any noticeable difference between stock and Euro??? I bought some Nokya Xenon lights and they were drawing too much from the system plus they did not light the road ahead just a few feet out. I changed out to Silverstars and they just are not worth the $$$ spent.

HID for me is probably out so Id appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,
Mike

Get the T-84s and add a higher wattage bulb. Just make sure you aim these correctly. There's 100/80 or 130/90 at someplace like here: http://www.rallylights.com/hella/bulbs.asp There some Brit sites that feature even higher wattages, but these lights are expensive. Some are even E-code marked.

HUGE difference.

I installed them on my car with some of the PIAA high wattage bulbs and it is literally night and day.

Help Nick:
You installed what to make the difference - the T84's?. When I used the Xenon bulbs 80/100 I saw the volt meter drop in the car drop and thought I damaging the alternator so I changed them out. I have an 02 vert.

Thanks
Mike

Thanks for the reply, Jack. I do not know what T-84's are. Is that something I can buy at Ecklers or Mid America? As I told BlownZ06, I thought the 80/100 setup from Noyka was too hot for my stock setup so I tossed them and put in the Silverstars. I do not know what an E-code bulb is. How to you aim the new lamps??

I dont want to waste your time with this, but if you have a minute, can you explain it to me a bit further.

Thanks again,
Mike

The T-84's are the euro bulb housing (glass). I love mine with the 90/135w bulbs. I ordered mine with the wiring harness from http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.m...ode=VTLIGHTING

Hear is a link on how to aim headlights http://www.midstatedmc.com/tech/aim.htm

Hope that helps.

Yes I installed the euro headlights and the PIAA 100/125 super white bulbs. I have seen no drop from the setup, you will have to use a new harness, I made mine for less than $20.

I hate to be a pest but how do you make the harness or where could I buy them?

Do you think that the problem I had with the electrical system (dropping volts) was because I did not have the beefier harness?

Lastly, the Nokya Xenon Plasma bulbs were very white like HID but would not shine down the road -- was that because of the stock lenses or just poor quality bulbs???

Thanks again

Not being a pest.. I don't mind the questions.
Well you have to run separate relays for the new lighting. The stock harness is not supposedly up to the task. So you use the stock lighting circuits from the passenger side to activate the relays.

http://www.c5forum.com/diy/eurolights.php

This link will walk you through the procedure. Don't pay attention to the costing in there. I think my E-code lamps were $64 each from Gene @ Fred Beans and then the bulbs were about $50.

As fas as your issues before.. I don't think you are going to get anything buy that white look from the stock lights. They are what they are. I have higher wattage bulbs in these and the reflector design is different.

Hope that helps.
