Cuz I am thinking about doing something like this in the near future...but I don't think my stock A4 would like that much power...wonder what a new beefy tranny would run...just out of curiosity- what does something like this tend to cost? H\C package installed?

The clutch was changed shortly after the install and believe me it (the clutch)wasn't great from the time I bought the car (used with 7700 miles). I went with a Z06 clutch and went through about 50 or so launches without problems. As the clutch started showing signs of wear, I went for the Cartek stage 7 clutch which can take a lot of abuse. So far for the rest of the drive line so good no problems. The only other drive line upgrade was a 4:10 rear and hardend output shaft.

There are all different levels of Head and Cam packages. Best thing to do is call around and get pricing and spec's etc. Then pick one that suits what you want to do. As far as the transmission is concerned, there are a number of shops out there which can make the 4L60E trans more durable. Rodney at RPM transmissions comes to mind he is Crashed 94 on the forum. Good Luck.
