I know this is gonna draw all kind of answers but should I just stick with Gm Dexron III? I am getting my new stall put in this week and want to make sure I get the right stuff. I ordered the filter and gasket too.

GM was supposed to have Dexron VI out this summer as a longer life replacement for Dexron III. Part # 88861037.
Does anybody know if it is available yet?
I've been using AMSOIL transmission fluid for some time and have been very happy. And it does meet GM specs. More information on this product can be found here:
How much are you able to pump into the tranny on refill??? My owners manual says 5qrts but I only could get about 3.5 to 3.75qrts into the fill hole before it started shooting back out at me. Even with the engine running you I couldn't put anymore in... I guess its full?!?!
Just wondering what others have experienced on A4's.

How hot was the trans fluid when you were adding the fluid ? If my memory serves me correctly the car needs to be level meaning on a lift or jackstands and the fluid below 90 degrees F for starters. Then you need to have the engine running while you move the shift lever thru all the gears staying in each gear for several seconds while watching your trans fluid temperature when it gets close to 90 degrees F. put it in park and leave the engine running. Then remove the fill plug there should be a small but steady flow out of the fill hole or its too low.
