My "check engine went on"... here are the codes... the fuel sensor codes are among them (when does that gauge ever really work right ?)... but I'm more concerned about the others... any input would be appreciated.

P1416
P1431
P1571
Don't worry about the p1571 asr desired torque. My 97 always has that one. I was told that was normal on 97-98 vetts. As for the others, I'm not sure.

HTH!
For the first couple of minutes after you start your engine (cold start) the air pump operates and pumps fresh air into the exhaust, on bank 1 (the left bank) you can see the air pipe going into the exhaust manifold and then you can also see a small black metal check valve, this check valve allows fresh air to go into the exhaust but will not allow the exhaust to back flow out, you have 2 check valves, the left one is visible and the right one is behind the left cylinder head.
I know that some people have removed the check valve without removing the intake manifold but I believe the service manual says the intake has to come off, once you get to the check valve you can try to clean it out (it will probably be corroded on the inside) or you can get a new one at the dealership, I believe they are pretty cheap, less than $20.
