I have a 2000 Vert and have been successfully using the Window Valet for the past year or so. Recently I replaced my driver’s side window regulator. Now, when I use my Window Valet to close the windows with my remote, both windows go up then when they hit the top they come back down. At first I thought that the window must be hitting the window seal too hard and therefore causing the window to rebound and close. Then I noticed that the same thing happened when both doors were open, free from hitting the window seal. Then I realized that the windows don't really rebound when they hit anything. So, the only time I have seen this behavior previously is when the windows are partially up and I use the Window Valet to close them. The windows go all the way to the top and then come back down again. Once down all the way I used to be able to use the Window Valet to get them to go back up to the top and close by hitting the lock button another three times. It does appear that the driver’s side window gets to the top a little faster than the passenger window. I am thinking that this may have something to do with my problem. Could be the newness of the driver's side window regulator or possibly the window is just adjusted incorrectly. Any help would be appreciated.
You may have to reconfigure your windows. The instructions that came with the unit tell how. If you don't have the instructions read on:
First you will need the last 4 numbers of the serial number on the unit.Write them down.
To enter the configuration mode press unlock on the drivers door panel while holding reset on the Drivers Information Center. Do this with the key off or removed. Coupe top has to be on or convertible top raised.
Next press option 4 on the DIC to enter the configuration menu.
Then select item #1 - configure windows. Then select #2 - enable and calibrate. This option requires a PIN number (the last 4 numbers of the serial number).
To enter the PIN # just key it in on the DIC. Here is what you will see and hear as you configure the windows:
The sequence:
1)Get into configuration mode by Reset and Unlock. You will hear a triple chime and the tach will move to 1K RPM.
2)Press the 4 button. Tach goes to 2K.
3)Press the 1 button. Tach goes to 3K and speedometer goes to 10.
4)Press the 2 button. Tach goes to 6K and speedometer to 40.
5)Enter PIN #. Each time a digit is read the speedometer will increase about 10 MPH. If you press a number and the needle doesn't move press it abain completely.
If all is accepted the will drop to the bottom completely. The horn will toot to warn that the windows are about to go up. The windows will go up completely.
