I had our 98 dyno tuned at the Cruise In. Twice in the last week I've gotten PO172 & PO175(left & right engine bank rich). Does anyone know if I can lean this out with an adjustable pressure regulator? I would have our tuner check it but he's about 500 miles away and I can't get there for some time. I've reset the DIC both times it's happened. It seems like the car has to travel about 100 miles before the codes set. They show in both History & Current.
I'm open to suggestions. The other thing is we have no tuners in this area. Thanks.
1. Check your spark plugs, if you show a rich condition on all, it has something to do with the tune.If only some are running rich, you may have partially plugged injectors causing the others to compensate by running rich. Run a can of Berryman B-12 in the tank and take it out on the highway for a cruise say 50 miles at 75-80 in 3rd if you have an auto or 4th if you have a six-speed.Worked wonders on mine fixed a rough idle and got the gas guage working again...
You can get a MAF Translator and a scanner and fix your fuel trims. Or a better solution is to get HPTuners or EFILive Flashscan and do the fuel trims yourself. Both have a scanner built in and support forums to help you through the process
I'm leaning toward buying a program so I can do this myself. I didn't think a pressure regulator would work but it was worth a guess. Thanks for the responses.
