'02 hard starting
My '02 is getting hard to start. After sitting a few hours it will crank and crank till I let off and try again. Then she fires. It must like the extra shot of fuel it gets when I stop cranking and try again. I did run injector cleaner in one tank-no help. I've also tried different fuel sources. It has 33k miles and sits in the winter and is an all stock daily driver in the summer. Any ideas? Thx RJ

You may have a weak fuel pump. try turning on the ignition two to three times without starting it, letting the fuel pump cycle. Then on the 4th time, start it and see if it fires right away. I have the same problem when the car sits for a day or two. But I would guess that the real way to check it would be to do an overnight fuel pressure check with a guage. But it could be other things too....more will tune in with their opinions.

Your fuel pump or the check valve in the fuel pump assembly (Drivers side fuel tank) is defective. Replace the pump and change the filter.
