Default B&B bullets

i decided to change the exhaust on my 99 vert. i've seen many videos and heard many sound clips on B&B bullet exhaust and love the sound of it. but also considered putting the dual stingers because they sound great . in the future i will be installing LG header system. i need some opinions on each exhaust. and which will sound better and louder with headers. apreciate the help . thanks.

it really just depends on individual taste....but from hearing them in person, the BB Bullets are louder IMO than the Borla Stingers,,,just cat-back to cat-back with stock manifolds... if you add headers, be prepared the Bullets will be even LOUDER. Be prepared for some serious resonance inside the car.

Hi Yagi,

I am in agreement with Frank. Basically, I have had the opportunity to purchase numerous aftermarket exhaust systems over the years. And, as for myself, I keep coming back to the B&B Bullets. The quality and finish of the welds and of the product itself, is exceptional. And, yes, the Bullets (dual tip) seem to be the loudest I have yet heard on the market. Again, sound quality and tone are quite subjective. And, I am impressed with the very muscular and aggressive note emanating from the B&B Bullets. Furthermore, when you do decide to install the LG headers, the exhaust note will be even louder. However, I have received nothing but Kudo's on this system. In fact, the greatest compliment I have received is when pulling into a dealership: Every mechanic and salesperson present and accounted for, file over like ants at a free Bar-B-Q to my C5 in awe and admiration. The common response is: "Now, that's the way a Vette should always sound like". Do be aware that there may be some resonance at certain RPM's. However, I personally do not find the system intolerable, and, is even pleasant while coasting at highway speeds (low RPM's). Let us know how it turns out for you.

Best Wishes,
Eden

Default Take a look at SLP Power-flo

I have headers, no cats and an x-pipe; and I recently exchanged my dual B&B Bullets for the new SLP Power-flo, primarily to get that incredible looking dual-one piece tip (I've never been a fan of quad or dual pipes on the C5; just doesn't look right in that rear fascia opening).
Anyway, the SLP is as loud as the Bullet, but deeper and a bit less harsh. Rather than resonated pipes SLP uses two mini - glasspacks that emit that "old-fashioned" muscle car sound we had in the '50's and 60's. Go to their website and take a look at: www.slponline.com

When backing off the throttle the Bullets sounded "harsh" and
"raspier" compared to the mellower SLP. But don't get me wrong; the
Bullet is a fine system - if it wasn't for my desire to get that new
tip I probably would've kept the Bullets....but now that I did i do
like the SLP sound better.

I ran the Bullets with stock manifolds and X-pipe for 6 months before swapping them out for Stingers.

My wife and neighbors appreciated the change. I had to wear earplugs because of the resonance.

To each his own, but they resonate too much for me.

I love my B&Bs with the stock Z06 manifolds. Hopefully, I will have some new sound clips after I finish the LG install since the headers came in today.

i have had bullets on for about 2 weeks now and i love them. they are loud but not obnoxious. they are very deep and well tuned sounding. if you get them be ready to take out your carpet and put in some insulation to kill the resonance. it will take around 3 hours to do. before i did the insulation it was a little too loud inside to talk above 2500 rpms. after the insulation it just has a very nice powerful sound and you can talk with no problems at all. so far the b&b with the insulation is the best thing i have done to the car.

I have had my Bullets on for well over a year and have loved them every minute I have had them and I run a set of Stainless Works headers with an X pipe, there is a slight resonance at about 3K but nothing you can't live with with. Just the sound of them when you start the car is a real thrill.

I have an 04 Z06 with:

B&B bullets (Twin Tip)
LG headers with cats
Vararam B2 with K&N.
Dyno tune

2 of my friends have Stingers and the B&B Bullets are a LOT louder ! They both tell me they hear my car over there car well after I have already gone by them !

Visit my web page for dyno chart before and after install.....and pics: http://mysite.verizon.net/res0aae8/webpage.html

You won't regret it. I put 2-tip bullets on my 2002 a4 coupe. Only other mods were vortex rammer and z06 ti exhaust. This car is soooo much more enjoyable now, it sounds incredible. I also noticed a SOTP improvement.
