Anyone having or had a squeak in there suspension? It' sounds like it might be a spring. And it sounds like it does it on the front and back. I took it to the Dealer once, and off course it didn't do it when they had it. They said there is nothing to grease. It's almost embarrassing to pull up anywhere when it does it. I notice it mostly at slow speed going over speed bumps, or just small road unlevelness. Any suggestions of what to do to get rid of it. It's got to be a dry bushing or something. It's a 99' coupe.
I had a terrible squeek that I traced to the driver's side rear lower shock bushing. I greased the bushing about 2 years ago and it hasn't returned. It was a pain to isolate the squeek but the hard work was worth it .

It seems the most common source for this type squeek is/are the anti-roll bar bushings. I had this a long time ago and used some synthetic brake caliper grease. No more squeeks. HTH

If they're stockers their rubber. No need to loosen the endlinks, just the clamps themselves. BTW, the torque values are different for the upper vs the lower bolts I think. I don't remember the numbers right off hand. Maybe someone else can post. HTH

Thanks. Are the rear uppers and lowers the same value? It's been awhile for me but it seems like I remember something about the uppers and lowers being different in the rear. Maybe I'm wrong.

I got the info out of the fsm. I can't remember if I did my uppers and lowers different on the rear. I kinda think I torqued them the same like it says in the service manual.

Hey thanks for the torque numbers. The more I think about it, the more I think that the sway bar is the squeak. Because sometimes I hear it in the front and back, when going over a speed bump. It's hard to imagine two shocks squeaking, but its' not impossible. I think that since it seems that it probably is either the shocks, or the sway bar bushings, maybe I should just put a new set of shocks on it and put on and some new sway bar bushings as a general maintance. I got 53k on the car. I don't know what the avg life on the stock shocks are, but I bet I am getting close.

Had the same problem on my 97. The rear sway bar squeaks inside the bushing.
This is how I fixed it, without jacking it up or taking off the bushing brackets:
-Get two zerk fittings (the hammer on type) - either 1/4" or 3/16"
-In the center of each bushing bracket, drill 1/4 or 3/16 hole (to fit the zerks you got) ONLY through the bracket, angled down slightly facing the rear
- Next, use a 1/16" drill and drill through the bushing itself (centered in the zerk fitting hole) until you just touch the sway bar
- Blow off all chips
- Hammer on the zerk fitting
- Using a grease gun with SYNTHETIC grease, pump in a SMALL amount of grease into the fitting
I also had a squeak that wouldn't go away. Turned out to be the lower rear passenger control arm bushings. I had to replace the arm since the bushings aren't serviceable.
