Default lights...

ok... i'm having interior light issues with my 97...any insight would be a big help

1. the light under the hood will not come on
2. the vanity lights on the passenger side mirror will not come on.
3. the dome lights ( on the mirror) will not come on when the car is running... they do light up when you shut the car off and open the door....
i checked fuse # 42 in the passengers footwell and it seems ok...

Default Accessary light problem.

I'm having the exact same problem with my newly purchased 1998 Coupe. It seemed to begin when I tried to replace a broken engine hood light. The hood light came on for a second and then immediantely went out (not burned out.) It seems to have taken the vanity lights and interior lights on the mirrors with it. Those lights do work with the ignition turned off, however.

Could they all have another fuse that controls them when the ignition is on?

Default Hood light fuse

I discovered that fuse #2 under the floor board controls the hood light. After replacing that 10 amp mini fuse, the hood light now works. Not positive the other lights run thru that fuse but they are working now, too.

jman1, let me know if changing fuse #2 solves your problem.
