Callaway Honker C5 Air Induction System
So, my sotp is that the Honker worked very well, and actually made the long tubes even better.

So, I'm thinking if Callaway will make the investment in us, I'll make the investment in them.
Any other input on the TB?

Regarding CA emissions, an intake such as the Halltech Stinger or Blackwing is very easy to swap out before your smog test is due. As a matter of fact, the filter needs to be inspected/cleaned/oiled every couple of years anyway, so it's really not THAT big of a deal.

On my Z06 it went from 356-359 stock to 372 with the Zip tie mod. Same as a VR equipped car which was tested at the same time.

BTW, CJS had another method I had forgotten about. You can use everything with the stock box. You need a Piece of 2" PVC pipe to lay across the face of the box.
Take all of 1 minute to do.
Loosen clamp at inlet of throttle body.
Disconnect air tube on drivers side of airbox.
Pop off airbox cover at the grommets in the very front.
Remove entire Airbox, Filter, MAF, neck assy as a unit.
Set assy on table.
Undo 2 bands/clips that release airfilter. Rotate these 90 deg and they will pop off.
Lift off top cover and set aside.
Daisy chain 3-4 Zip Ties (regular length, or 2 long ones) to make one long one that will reach around entire lower airbox, filter, and filter cage. Make two.
Tighten zips as tight as you can get them. (McRAt method)
My method is slighly differnet
I simply removed the factory metal straps and replaced them with shorter one made from wire ties. I use the two stock plastic clamps, and I run a zip tie from the handle to the opening the metal straps came out of. You make the straps just a little short so you can put the clamp under a load. This allows for consistent pressure to the filter frame.
Reinstall, don't forget to tighten hose clamp at throttle body.
Seriously, it took me less than 15 mins, and required just a flat blade screwdriver.
First off you can do a basically free mod. The zip tie mod. On my 2002 it was worth 15RWHP and 11 lb/ft of Tq.
Stock Box assembly

Other than a slightly bigger opening, the box portion is the same. So, you don't need to buy a new Z06 intake. Any C5 intake will work just fine.

Here Mc Rat's car. They just wrapped the ties around the box. I re-used the factory hardware to allow you to change the filter.
Hope this helps...

Dyno test results:
1.) 399.9 rwhp/387.1 lb-ft with a popular aftermarket intake system
2.) 419.4 rwhp/402.1 lb-ft with Honker
3.) 432.2 rwhp/412.1 lb-ft with Honker & tuning

I know you can't see it from the picture, but I've seen them in person. There is just a slight rolling wave shape on the inside and, for what it's worth, the inside surface is very smooth from polishing the mold surface.

And:
I just made a dyno run last week; I plan on going to the same dyno after I'm done. - I know, different weather will make the results less comparable, but it's the best I can do.
By the way: I have a complete aftermarket exhaust, but no other mods.
