One other thing some engine builders use loser bearing clearances for high reving motors and put in a high volume, high pressure pump. You could always change the spring in the pump to bring pressure up. usually what causes low oil pressure is lose bearing clearances or you have a bad oil pump thats maybe got a weak spring in it. Usually when u rod on the motor and the let off really fast the oil pressure goes up then u have loose rod bearing clearances. I would replace the oil pump before i would tear into the engine to check bearing clearances. If that doesnt fix it then u either gonna have to pull the motor or u may have a faulty oil pressure sender unit. Try to hook up a oil pressure gauge that uses the old manual sender unit instead of the electronic one. Will give u a more accurate reading... Just a thought

Please elaborate.. Could you give us the details? Did he put washers between the pickup mounting tab and the block, or stack o-rings, or physically bend the pick up down? Did he remove the pan entirely to do this or just drop down enough to get to the pickup bolt?
I talked to them this morning. They removed the pan and physically bent the pickup down to about 1/4" off the bottom of the pan. May be trial and error and may have to tap it back up if you bend the pickup too far the first time.
