Default DTE diff. brace install?

so is there anything I should watch out for or do in preperation for the install, like wires to watch for or extra things I might need to unbolt, the car is all put together so I'll be doing an in car install, I'd like to hear from some of you who have done this, thanks

The only thing I would suggest would be to glue the spacers (washers) to the front of the transmission bracket. If they still make them the same as the one I got they stack like 3 washers around each bolt between the front brackets and the transmission housing. They are the biggest pain in the butt to get them to stay in place while getting the bracket in place. If you drop just one off you pretty much have to remove the entire thing and start over. I don't know why they didn't just machine some spacers out of bar stock and weld them to the bracket. I would use a good glue like 3M weather stripping adhesive, I think the part number is 08001 for the yellow stuff. You know, the slimy yellow stuff that many refer to as gorilla snot. I would put a little glue between the bracket and each washer, then stack them up where they go on the bracket and then use a bolt and nut to hold them in place while they dry for several hours.

okay, did the install, and man am I in pain.... here's some helpfull advice to anybody doing one also........ TAKE THE FRIGGIN TRANNY OUT!.... probably would have saved me time just removeing the whole assembly, SCREW ALL THE BOLTS IN WHERE THEY GO TO GET THE PAINT OUT OF THE HOLES, errrrrr..., but if anybody is doing an in-car make sure to take at least the exhaust off first, that will make things much easier, the main reason to take everything out is when you get to the jam nut on the top rods after adjusting them, you'll find that no wrench will go in that little 1" gap, you should cut/shave down a spare 15mm wrench to fit up there..... and bring a lawn chair when installing the upper rod that goes from left to right diff brackets.... will save you from holding a 10min. sit-up..... also the tape on the washers is a very helpfull thing to do, thanks guys...

You don't have to take the tranny out but lowering the drive train helps A LOT.
