How hard is it to swap out differentials in an A4? I'm going to be replacing my 2.73 with a 3.73. Any special tools, new gaskets or seals, can I do it by myself or will I need help? I have no lift, just jack and stands. Any insights or suggestions would be welcome. Thanks

For special tool, you will need a pry bar to seperate the TT from the bell housing and a tranny jack. I needed help from another person during removal and 2 guys when installing. Good luck with the project.
Mike Mercury's page is great. Changing out the differential isn't that hard. As stated on his page, you can tilt the tranny down enough to swap it out.
Good luck
Definately does not look like something a beginner should tackle all by himself IMO
If you have plenty of time, a pair of helping hands, and access to a lift, it may not be too bad. Not one to try solo on your back in the driveway with the car on jack stands for one of your first projects though
