Default Got a question about HID conversions.

Which kit would be the best??
I checked at blinglights (one of the forum sponsors) and there are
several kits to choose from. I was thinking either the 4300K or the 6000K. I take it the higher the number the brighter the bulb is. They go all the way to 12000k, but I think that would be to bright. What would your guys suggestions be??

The K rating on HID does not indicate how bright the bulb will be. It is an indicator of the color of the HID output. The best thing is to stay in the 4300k - 6000k range. The higher you go up, the more the light will shift to a purpleish color and the actual light output will be lower.

When looking for kits, take a good look at the components that make up the kit. Look for bulbs from Philips or Osram, and ballasts from Philips or Hella or other quality brands. Stay away from the cheapo generic ballasts which will usually blow after some time. If possible, look for kits that use D2R or D2S bulbs so you can replace them easily - easier to find. A lot of the kits out there will have some non-standard wiring to from the bulb to the ballast, so if you need to replace the bulb, you'll have to get it from that manufacturer and there's no telling how long they will be in business. Stick with the big name brands if at all possible.

That is the specific link to the system I'm interested in. Does it look like it would be ok?? WCC has a system that uses Phillips ballasts, but
that one is 700$.

i have 6000k really nice and ecodes....if i did it again i would go 4300k for the extra light output and not even bother with ecodes....anything u pick totally blows away the stock setup. You can't imagine how much better they are until u see them for youself.

All our kits include a 1 year warranty. In addition all components use the the industry standard AMP connectors. The same connectors used by most HID manufacturers. BlingLights isn't going anywhere but you can purchase replacement bulbs and parts from many of our competitors. Defects for properly installed kits is less then 1%.
The brightest kit is the 4300K with the exception of the 8000K VHO kit which is the brightest in the industry and sold exclusively through BlingLights.com thx
