Quick Thread Question: Borla vs. Zo6 TI Exhaust Systems
I'm looking for HP gain with weight reductions. The Borla Street system priced out at $1,299 but have come across a Z06 TI system with only 2,000 miles on it and it's in perfect condition. I have a 98 vert, so the volume output is a factor.
98 vert here. I had the Corsa Indy's but they got a little loud after the header install. No resonance but really loud. I traded with a forum member for his Z06 exhaust. Now it's too quiet. Sounds good at WOT but I miss my loud pedal. Hopefully the H/C will wake it up some. If not, I'll put on something else. THe Z06 exhaust is LIGHT and quiet but flows very well.
IMO HP gains for Z06 or any catback are realy not worth much. You could see a loss in weight on the TI side. If you are only talking catback, it is mostly sound, and IMO, find someone local with what yuo want and go for a ride If you want to dump weight, and get some nice HP gains, go for a complete system with LG headers, cats (maybe) and TI Z06 muflers. You would get the lowest weight, best HP gain, and it will not be as docile @ idle with full headers. I have had my OEM Z06 muflers, Borla Stingers and then Stingers on LG Pro Long tubes. The muflers alone made it sound nice, much better than before esp under load, but on full long tubes... over 35 RWHP and way much more agressive sounding.

Thanks for the opinions. I think for the $$, the Z06 system is a better choice. Yes, I do plan on adding the LG PLH system with cats in the near future. Thanks again!
