Hello everyone, I recently purchased a 2003 Z06. That atrocity GM installed (forcing the 1 to 4 shift) is driving me nuts! What I wanted to know is, is there a particular manufacturer that you would recommend (or vendor) for the skip shift eliminator? Is one more reliable than the next? That sort of thing.
Other than that the car is amazing! Blows the doors off my 97 z28 in all aspects
Don't bother the the skip shift eliminator. Learn to shift after you hit 3000 rpm. There is no need to shift sooner, unless you are worried about the gas mileage, in which case follow the damn CAGS. You have a ZO6, why drive it like granny? I've had my 98 up to 40 mph in first and guess what, it didn't break, didn't even complain!
Too much shifting and you'll be replacing the clutch sooner than you expect to.
Sorry for the rant, but learn to just drive through the 1st to 4th condition.
*turns red* hehe this is my first stick ;p Beat up a friends Miata for a week before it came in though, and I've been gentle as can be till I get the complete hang of it.
Yeah tonight I reved it up a bit more before shifting ...all shifts went much more smoothly.
