Just finished my h/c Z06, took it to Livernois to get tuned and they called and said the intake has a leak at the front of it where it meets the head. I followed the torque sequence like the instructions said and I replaced the valley bolts supplied with the intake. I did reuse my old gaskets, but the car only has 8,000 miles on it. Anyone heard of this?

I do not think your problem is that unusual. First, some of the FAST intakes are just warped and will not seat. The torque specs do not allow you to bottom out the gaskets and they do loosen up frequently even with blue Locktite. I doubt it is the gaskets if they were carefully seated in the manifold. They are ~$50 o-ring type and are very resilient.
I am sure Livernois has seen this before.
I reused my gaskets with 19,000mi and no problems.Fast intakes are hit or miss on the quality.
I would have enough for a second Fast intake if my gaskets were replaced every time the intake was off. The plastic o-ring gaskets are reusable. Check and see if the intake is warped.
Thanks guys, I am having Livernois check the intake for warping. Because I didn't buy it from them it's costing me a small fortune. For those of you who said not to use old gaskets, I have a friend who has had his intake off approx. 8 times without buying new gaskets, and without a hitch.

My Fast was warped. I used new gaskets and torqued the manifold down from the middle to the outside in about 4 steps. I also went much tighter than the 89 in/lbs. the stock one says to use. I went to 18 ft/lbs. and used blue locktight. I don't know about FAST quality. They are really overcharging for what it is really worth. They are the only game in town for it though. You know what that means...

We ALL have friends that have done one thing or another.
In the grand scheme of things how much does the gasket "really" cost.
I would rather spend 20 bucks and KNOW that its not my gasket than save 20 bucks but have to spend 85.00 an hour to diagnose a leak.
FAST intakes are notorious for being warped. I would personally NEVER reuse a gasket of ANY kind.

Hope it all works out for you.
If you had replaced the gasket you would basically know if it was a warped intake manifold. Now there is some doubt. You have to admit that if there were no doubt you would not be asking the question. Gaskets are cheap.

I don't think you have seen these or are familiar with the problem?
And they ain't cheap.

Guys, the vendor I bought the intake from told me there was no need to replace the gaskets on an 8,000 mile car but I will let you all know what the final outcome is, and $50.00 worth of gaskets says it's NOT the gaskets. Any of you want to take me up on that? I was looking for input on warping and or if anybody went beyond the torque specs or if anyone had to exchange their intakes.

You brought up the gaskets in your first post??? I will refrain from posting next time I see your screen name. Good Luck.
