crimp-on type balancing weights
Why does the factory attach crimp-on type balancing weights on the outisde of the wheels with the resultant break in the clear coat. Ford does the same thing at the factory.
Ford refinished wheels under warranty (which I understand can only be done once or twice then the rim is deemed unsafe) and placed non-crimp-on on type balancing weights on the inside of the wheel. I think that the non-crimp-on weights were magnetic. However, the Ford is not a 150+ MPH vehicle.
Does anyone have any suggestions about what I should tell the tire shop when I get the tires replaced? Putting them on the inside still results in the clear coat being broken.
