Quite often, my A4 often won't shift out of Park until (it seems) the engine is warm or been running for a while. Odd. Why temp. would have any bearing is beyond me.
Does this sound like something within the shift button mechanism or is the brake sw. / shift interlock messed up somehow?
Are you saying the button wont push down? If so prob the mechanism inside.. mine takes a few times pressing hard sometimes also..
No, the button will push down, I just can't move the shifter out of Park. Oddly enough, after the car sits running for a while, it then releases. Maybe this is an impending trans problem?
Seems the "Brake Before Shift" on the DIC is taking longer to show up too (maybe my imagination).
