Default 4:10 geer and speedometer question

How do you set the speedometer if you change the rear in a 6 speed? I am guessing I have to also purchase a programmer, and if so, which one would be best if this is the only reprogramming I need to make?

VSS [vehicle speed sensor] is on the axle, no change necessary unless you change tire diameter...

Yep, synchros need to be programmed. Fortunately, I have a M6 so my 4.10s required no programming. Love 'em. Great mod!

Anybody from South Florida know where I can get 4:10's or 3:90's installed and do I need to purchase a whole rear or is just getting the ring and pinion an option?

Yes, but you must have it installed by someone who knows the Getrag differential. It is unlike most diffs. Fortunately there is a place in Houston that does this so I took the diff out and brought it to them and then reinstalled it. $250.00 for setting the ring and pinion and an extra $50.00 for putting in both hardened shafts, new clutch pack, billet pinions support and HD pre-load springs.
