looking for a good technician here...is it ok to have the converter locked during an up shift or even a down shift? I'm doing an edit to a program and in a couple of the cells the unlock mph is lower then the down shift so it stays locked as it goes from 4-3 and in the same tps cell the 3rd gear lock up mph is lower so it actually stays locked once the shift has taken place. then in another cell/tps collum, the lock up is commanded before the up shift from 3-4 and is locked through the shift. Is this bad??? OR should the converter always be unlocked just prior to the shift whether it be up or down or at least as it shifts to the next gear?? thanks for the input

my god someone must know the answer to this question....it seams that most programs have the edit so that the 3rd gear lockup is right at the point of 3/4 upshift except at higher tps setting where the lockup for 3rd is higher then the upshift so it doesnt lock till it reachs 4th for 1-2 mph. on the down shift it seams that most stock programs have 4th release at a low speed so that when the down shift occures to third it will release automatically because the mph of the downshift is lower then 3rd lockup.so once it hits 3rd the converter will unlock. This seams to be the patern accross the board on most stock programs.but if a converter can be locked during an up shift why cant it on a down shift???
Do not have the converter lockup on shifts
In ls1 edit it should be false
Converter lockup on shift true or false
I blew the O ring off the pump
This will put the trans in limp mode
Full pressure shifts and codes when in overdrive
be sure after dyno the trans put back into false for clutch lockup on shifts .
