Default Code P0410

Help please...

My car, my dad and I just finished our journey from Seattle, WA to Charleston, SC and about 100 miles prior to finishing the trip the check engine light came on and the code was P0410 (Air Malfunction).

I called my buddy Paul (TALON90) and he told me it was a vaccum leak, so I am am going to investigate. There is a very slight whistling noise coming from the EGR area just in front of the driveside, so i an checking there. Any other ideas?

I did have the oil changed yesterday, but I can't think of anything down there that would have been knocked loose...is there anything?

Micah

Thanks, I will check...

Another thing I need to add.

There is no (noticeable) performance loss with this, it is just annoying.

the ck eng light should be on w/ this code and you won't hear the whining noise upon startup w/ the motor inop(heats up cats by forcing air into the exhaust manifolds)

FYI, you can go here and get a breakdown of almost every PCM DTC code by year model.

As an example, here is the P0410 explained for a 2000 Corvette.

Most of the diagnostic processes listed require a scan tool that can turn on the AIR pump.
