Okay, I have a 2000 C5 Corvette that I have had for almost 3 years now. About a year or so ago, the Service ABS/Traction Control light came on about every couple of weeks, but always went away when I turned the car off and restarted it. Then it became more frequent. I checked out this forum and they said that if you would clean the Grounds at the top of the wheel well, that it would probably cure the problem. So I did. And it did clear up for awhile. Then it came back. So I cleaned the Grounds again, but this time, it didn't help. It has come and gone every since then. It even stopped a few times for a couple of weeks at a time. It has driven me crazy. I spent most of the day this last Sunday checking everything I knew to check and could NOT find the problem. I took off the wheels, checked the cables going to the sensors, checked the connections on the sensors, sprayed contact cleaner on them. Nothing helps. If I start the car, leave it running, and put a towel against my wheel to keep it from hurting the surface, and tap either front wheel very lightly, the light comes on. The back wheels, nothing happens. If I reset it and turn the wheel setting still, the light comes on. I would say it's the steering wheel position sensor everyone is talking about, but it makes no sense to be able to tap lightly on the wheel and the warning light comes on. Sometimes driving down the street, if I hit a bump, it will come on. PLEASE, anyone, HELP!!! This is driving me completely nuts. Thanks.

I am having a similar problem on my 97. I am getting a service trac system every couple days... So TTT for you, hopefully someone can help us both out!!
lights came on my Z06, and shut it off lights turned off, did that one more time then they stayed on... took it to the dealer, and turned out that the brake control module/computer had shorted out completely....
long story short...$1800 later everything works...thank God for extended warranties!

We just fixed this today in my 98
Check the continuity of the wires in the harness right under the hard intake elbow. We had to rewire the green and tan wires and then the trac and abs work again.

yes they come back immediatly do you have any ideal what this can be i dont want to just swap parts until i find can it be narrowed down if i take it some where and have it scanned

I don't personally, but do a search on TAC and see the other posts; that may help.
Well, I finally gave up and took it to a dealership. They diagnosed it and told me it was the left-front wheel speed sensor that is built into the hub. So, $550 later, I got it back, and it seems to be fixed. Hope all of this helps someone.
I've been chasing down a similar problem for some time now. My wires seems to be in good shape after checking them with a resistor thing. A friend suggest I try switching the hubs to see if that is the problem. Not sure how to do that, but I'm going to try this weekend.

I've read (on here) the above listed codes are common on our cars and do not cause any lights to come on. Just ignore them.
My '97 did the same thing to me this morning while driving to a Mitsubishi Dealer for my work. I hit a pretty rough spot out on I-96E and then I pulled this code (I got the service ABS/TCS system warning in the DIC, and both the ABS and TCS lights lit on the cluster). I know it scared me when I saw it....

Soon as I re-started the car it went away though. Sounds like I might be having the same issues...

Unfortunately a lot of us are dealing with some kind of ABS/Traction control issues. Many times you can fix these errrors by taking a look at the connectors to the hub/s in question and clean the connector with an electrical cleaner and reattach. That worked for me for some time. There is also a great write up from Bill Curlee on how important the grounds are to these cars. Here's the link....great write up, thanks to Mr. Curlee!
These codes come and go and shouldn't get you down. Just clear them and go on with your life. If they come back on a daily basis (as I'm dealing with) you're going to have a little more digging to do...... It's either the hub itself (which you can troubleshoot and determine with an ohm meter) the wiring to the EBCM (unlikely), or the EBCM itself.
Try clearing the codes and come back if your problems persist....
