Air Pump...
I posted about my code thrown at me...P0410 and everyone is telling me it is an air pump issue and that the air pump only comes on for the first 30 seconds from start and goes off. IS the air pump something I can just disable and tune out? If not, what does a new air pump costs?
I am getting ready to run nitrious on my vette and wonder...should this be something to worry about?

I think it comes on for 4 min. at each startup.
It adds air to the exhaust to help the cats clean up a rich startup condition (emission item).
it has no effect on engine performance.
yes it can be removed and edited out of the computer.
the light will cause you to fail inspection if this is a concern.
you can find a lot of info by searching tech for a po410.
check valves, hoses/connections and the pump are main parts.
you can open the head lights, start the car and listen for the pump at the drivers side head light (the pump is located below this head light).
are you running headers?
